  • Nigel Skeggs

    Having grown up in Nelson, Nigel has returned to his hometown having spent the last 13 years as the Managing Director of Port Denarau Marina (International Marina of the Year Hall of Fame Inductee) in Fiji. Having been a Superyacht Captain prior to Fiji, Nigel has built his career in and around the water and was the Chairman of the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji as well as the tourist hub of Denarau Island.

    Alex has a very strong background in administration, sales and support services and has moved to Nelson to join our team. For the past 5 years, Alex has been the Communications, Stakeholder Liaison and Customer Service representative at Westhaven Marina in Auckland.

  • Blair Taylor

    Blair has joined the team with a vast experience in the maritime industry having worked as Captain and Mate on Superyachts, a Superyacht rigger and as the Boat Mate and Shore Team Member of the Telefonica Volvo Ocean Race Team. More recently he has worked at Dickson Marine and has joined us after 7 years working in customer service at NZ Rope and Twine.

    Melissa has joined our team as the new Accounts and Customer Service Officer.  Melissa comes from a customer service and accounting background, most recently in the hotel and hospitality sector.  Although the marina industry is new for Melissa, she is excited about her new challenge.

  • Peter O'Donoghue

    Boat Yard Supervisor

    Coming from a fishing background, Peter (Pete) will be a very familiar face to you all having driven and operated Nelson's only Travel Lift since 2003. With an accident free safety record during this time, your vessel will be in very safe hands when you book to lift and move your vessel to and from the hardstand.

  • Lachlan Dawber

    Dock Hand

    Lachlan comes from a strong maritime background having been a skipper and guide on kayaks and various vessels in the Abel Tasman National Park for many years. More recently you may have seen him around the marina working for one of our contractors. Lachlan has a diploma in electronic and software engineering, is an electrical service technician and has his commercial skippers ticket.

    Lachlan will be on duty from Sunday through to Wednesday.

  • Yard Hand

    Gordie May

    With an extensive background in the outdoors and customer service, Gordie has joined the marina as our Yard Hand. Visiting NZ from Canada, Gordie is on a work visa and fixed term contract.
